Umm.. Let see how are they alike hmmmmmm... A group of people/community is being denied their right, discriminated upon bashed and looked down upon for something they can not change. Plus the rate Homophobes are killing gays. Yea.... Its definetly CAN be the compared. Its the same shit just different time, and community. GEORGE CLOONEY ??? He is a man who has never been married, had children, known for being a playboy even though he has the looks and the money to pull it off! My prediction for George Clooney is that he is coming out of the closet this year as a Gay Man! his comparing color with sexual orientation is just part of his opening the door!

As for Race, black, white, asian, hispanic, arabic, etc are all one race ... if we were not the same race, we could not share blood or reproduce!

Oh please. This is very one sided. All Clooney was trying to point out was that homosexuals are discriminated against just like african american's were and that they are lacking the rights that african americans and any race for that matter now have. It was an EXAMPLE. He is merely expressing that EVERYONE deserves their rights.

Thank you. Why don't they compare Jews to Gays or HIspanics to Gays. It's a slap in the face but when other people have a huge amount of disrespect and desensitized view of the race that's what they do. Blacks are considered to be the undesirables so they place blacks( a race) in the same group of gay ( a sexual orientation) It's really highly offensive for a group of people who've been abused the majority of their lives not to mention their ancestors who had their heads cut off and were hung.

I hear if he's angry about a hijacking of history but where the comparison is a struggle to be recognised as a citizen with equal rights, and suffering discrimination to the point where people get murdered I don't see how those parallels are invalid. Where they're not the same: Gays weren't specifically enslaved by imperialists for hundreds of years. But right now can black people legally marry in any state? Only if they are straight black ppl. Now shouldn't it just be the same for everyone?

Gay people are victimised and hurt, refused equality & jobs and murdered for their birth orientation. Many gay people have contributed to the USA. Any person who fights for equality (sexual, race or gender etc) and a right to be treated with respect is a civil rights activist. The person is the video seems a nice bloke but he has completely misunderstood the references made by GC. Black people are not the only race to undergo slavery.
