Jet Boots

Justin from Patriot3 was kind enough to let me test out a pair of JetBoots for a couple of days. I came away quite impressed. Swappable batteries in the water (not that I needed to swap mine), easy to control, and there wasn't a learning curve at all.

I took it down as deep as 134' (the ocean floor impended any further progress) but I'm told that the JetBoots are rated to 300' depths. I also quickly learned that there was no point in turning them up to full power - My snorkel was ripped off more than once. All my GoPro footage taken with the headband was worthless due to the camera wobbling badly. Several times I was worried my mask would also get ripped off, so I kept the power dialed down.

do you wear an omer abyss or bandit? My set up is an omer bandit with a cressi corisca snorkel. looks like u use the zoom from omer?

I use the Micromask actually and yes, I use the Zoom snorkel. Overpriced snorkel that's for sure!

Those are pretty cool. At the beginning of the video, I was like "OH NO, he's ascending too fast!" LOL Then it dawned on me. He's freediving. :) I'm just not too crazy about the tester lying on the bottom. But that's just me. And I love the sub swim-by. I haven't been out to the YO and San Pedro yet, but I will!
