Developer Walkthrough continued here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6noYCGGwFw

Dallas Dickinson, Senior Content Producer and Blaine Christine, Producer at BioWare Austin, TX, explain the basics of The Old Republic's gameplay as of August 17, 2009. This video was first shown at the 2009 GamesCom Expo in Cologne, Germany.*

This HD video was downloaded directly from SWTOR.com's Media section and is of the highest quality possible.

The video description from SWTOR.com:
"Whether you were busy being digested in the Sarlacc Pit, Bounty Hunters stole your speeder or like at least one of us you were encased in carbonite and unable to make it to Germany for GamesCom, weve got something for you!

Here is a video of the complete Developer Gameplay Walkthrough showcased at this weeks GamesCom. Get a close-up look at the Bounty Hunter and Smuggler on the worlds of Hutta and Ord Mantell. Jump to the Sith home-world of Korriban and meet the Sith Warrior class. And be transported aboard an Imperial transport ship to see the Bounty Hunter and Sith Warrior decide the fate of the captain and crew aboard the Black Talon."

Script of video Dialogue - (Unfinished, to be continued)

Dickinson: Hi. I'm Dallas Dickinson, Senior Content Producer for Star Wars: The Old Republic, a new massively multiplayer, story-driven game being developed by BioWare and LucasArts. Now, we've been talking a lot lately about the fact that this is the first ever fully voiced MMO, but we wanted to show that to you, in action. So, we're gonna give you a quick preview of Star Wars: The Old Republic - the cinematic conversation system, as well as some of the action-packed, Star Wars combat that you will get to experience when you play the game. We're going to show you a few things here, but remember this is a work in progress. You're going to see a couple of character classes, a few of our planets, and then a "flashpoint" in the game. Hope you enjoy.
We're gonna start you off here on Hutta with our Bounty Hunter class. It's worth pointing out that this is the first time that Hutta has ever been fully imagined as a planet in the Star Wars Universe. As a bounty Hunter, you're here to try and win entry into the Great Hunt. It's a contest sponsored by the Mandalorians to find the greatest Bounty Hunter in the galaxy. In keeping with the iconic Bounty Hunters from the films, your motivation is personal and it's mercenary. Recently we announced that this was the first ever fully voiced MMO. What that means is that every player character, both male and female, every NPC, everyone you talk with in the game will have full, high-quality VO. The guy in front of you, Braden, is your mentor. He is the guy who brought you here and is going to help you win entry into the Great Hunt. Without further ado, here is your first conversation.

Braden (to Maco): We're almost set up. Let's see if you can't get that security network runnin', Maco.

Maco (to Braden): Sure thing, Braden. We'll be... uh... hey now....

Braden (to You, the Hunter): Indeed, the main attraction has arrived. Team, this is the man we're pinnin' all our hopes on. Best shot I've ever seen and nerves of steel. He's Great Hunt material all right. What do you say, Hunter? Ready to meet your team?

Dickinson (Narrator): Now notice that you're making decisions here in dialogue. Remember, your decisions matter.

the Hunter (to Braden): What I'm ready to do is make a pile of credits.

Maco (to Jory): A man from your same mould, Jory.

Jory (to the Hunter):

Braden (to the Hunter): Let's do this, official-like. This is Maco, a little genious I picked up years ago in Nar Shadaa. She provides intel and tech...

Maco (to the Hunter): Hope you're as good as the old man says.

Braden (to the Hunter): ...and the big bruiser is Jory. He handles the heavy liftin' and provides security for our base of operations.

Jory (to the Hunter):

the Hunter (to Maco and Jory): nice to meet you both. Let's get to work.

Braden (to group): A'right, enough introductions. Down to business. We're here because the Great Hunt has been called. Little Maco is the most rabid fan of Hunter history this side of Geonosis, and even she doesn't know exactly what the Great Hunt entails.

Maco (to the Hunter): I do know the names of every Great Hunt winner though: Bloodworthy, the Defenstrator, Jule the Nightbringer.

Braden:

  • Yeah i don't understand why people whine over the monthly payment. I mean its on average about 15 dollars. Thats about the same price as a meal at McDonalds.

  • @MrGkid5000 You act like WoW is the only mmo to ever succeed. There were others before it. And WOW is a clone of every game before it. That is how ideas work, tard. Every game is a clone of the games before it. It isnt like we were all just playing Mario and then WoW came out. WoW is a copy that succeeded. but ppl are sick of it. It is only a matter of time before a new game takes over. And this one looks good. Plus it has a better story than WoW. Also TheRushfx used "sounded" correctly, tard.

  • internet arguments make me lol

  • @Wanasimawang Exactly, this is a good game the beta is sick, but it is very time consuming like most mmo games. That said people who will not be able to keep up with the constant content release and such will cause the game to have the same deterioration like wow did. I am not saying people who don't have time to spend 5-10 hours on a game shouldn't get it, I am only saying that by using the same schemes and release plots the game is most likely to follow expansion hell like wow.

  • @MrGkid5000 When WoW first came out you didnt have to do all the BS you have to to keep up with it now, so yes, you are right, people are getting tired of the amount of work you have to do to play a video game. but eventually it will go away... blizzard wont. They created the most successful MMO ever, but eventually ppl will get tired of it. This star wars game looks damn good. And yes they will use some mechanics seen in wow, but Wow did that to other games as well.

  • @dkmasterkill1 You can put it on a mac, i'm not a computer whiz but my friend is and he plays on his mac. There is some kind of program that basically mimics windows simply to allow the playing of video games. I dont know exactly what they are called but you could probably google it if you have a mac and want to play pc games.

  • @Wanasimawang Wow is the only mmo to hold solid players for over 5 years. People that get tired of are those that could not keep up with the content that it produced. These people are making the transaction from a game that they fell behind in to a new game which they would only fall behind in again its common sense your not getting the hard mode wow community. Also he used the word "sounded" incorrectly. "Sounded" can only be used verbally to describe its nouns' definition.

  • @MrGkid5000 ok i wont argue with you anymore your right everything you say is right your so clever and know everything about mmo's , fancy me arguing with such a brilliant young mind like yours ,all mmos are clones of wow because wow is number 1 mmo yup makes sense 100% your so right lets leave it at that , bye kid i got eurogamer expo tomorrow so im going to bed byebye pls dont reply unless u really cant resist
