Otis, the screech owl, is an education raptor at Willowbrook Wildlife Center in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. The owl is used in programs to teach about native wildlife and handled by volunteer raptor handler Pat Conoway. Willowbrook in owned and operated by the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County.

  • That the male of the species is the larger is a misconception that a lot of people have. In most raptors and some fish also, the female is always the biggest. The really big largemouth bass that people catch and hopefully release, are always female. The male is usually much smaller.
