Typical "baw, I suck and what I have to do isn't blatantly obvious enough, so the game has to be bad" reviewer.

this game is exellent

I used to agree that this game was absolutely awful. Here's the thing: It's legitimately challenging. It's not poorly made, it's just an exercise in controller-snapping agony. But it's a serious challenge, and a ton of fun in my honest opinion.
Also, those silver coin things aren't useless: you use them to get the ultimate weapon powerup, the fully automatic, which lets you fire an entire magazine in quick succession.

this game has gamepad support just so you know, and once you get over the initial difficulty it's a brilliant game

The developer should indeed fix some problems like the controls etc.

and to think I was thinking of buying it. i downloaded the demo and the controls are completely retarded!

Yes. My first look talk me. This game killing my hero again and again.
Whenever there's a bad review, there will always be those that disagree. There are actually people that think Daikatana is a good game.
For this game, it seems to all come down to what you think is proper "challenge." I appreciate legitimately difficult games. I do not, however, think that bad controls are a legitimate component of challenge. As I pointed out further on in this Let's Play, basic fundamentals such as multi-directional aiming and jump+shoot are not new. They're staples.

@michaelodeon You are welcome to your (incorrect) opinion. Metroidvania exploration games have made a lot of progress over time, and this game is many steps back. The creator expresses a desire to make a throwback to the SNES era, but the gameplay is pre-SNES in every regard. It's possible to make a fusion of new world ingenuity with old world aesthetics, and Project Black Sun entirely misses every mark it tries to hit.
