And I'm not the only one who thinks this: most Spaniards thought Ena was DULL and I totally agree with them. What do you think Ena did in the evenings? Just sitting quietly in her room and drink tea. @MarieEdinburgh You forgot to mention Alfonso's grandmother Isabella II. Her parents were uncle and niece to each other. Isabella II had more lovers than a dog has fleas; and if you read your history, you would know her husband was not the father to her son. At least Ena added a little more class to that inbred family.

marie estoy totalmente de acuerdo contigo en que alfonso xiii debiera haberse casado con una princesa de mas linaje(imaginate que el rey de inglaterra, tio de victoria eugenia, le tuvo que conceder el titulo de alteza real antes de la boda para q pudieran hacerlo en igualdad de terminos) pero aun asi no veo nada bien que el rey le fuera infiel con multitud de mujeres, eso no se lo merece ninguna :)

Le recordaré que la Reina María Cristina no era del todo una realeza tampoco.

Para que una persona sea considerada auténtica realeza debe serlo por AMBOS padres, no solo uno de ellos. Aunque la madre de Ena era una princesa, su padre Enrique de Battenberg, NO era realeza! Parece que es usted el que olvidó tomar en cuenta eso... La reina María Cristina no quería que su hijo se casara con Ena porque su padre era un simple Battenberg, aunque su madre fuese una princesa.

Qué importancia tiene? Mucha, cuando se está hablando de la realeza.
