The People's Republic of China is severing relations with all other nations. They have mastered the art of miniaturization, and have shrunk all their people to the height of 2 inches. The ambassador of China, Ah Fong (Pat Morita), announces during a press conference that the key to all knowledge can be found from twins. • Fucking hell, this is terrible. Awful trailer for an awful film based on a great book.

  • The book "Slapstick" is one of my favorites by Kurt Vonnegut. I've never seen the movie and only learned there was a movie at all until recently. The book is intricately wacky and definitely not how it seems to be depicted here. I can see what the movie makers were perhaps going for, but I think that other tries at "alien social experiment" stories have been more successful--the TV show "Third Rock from the Sun" for example--and I feel disappointed that aliens were even added to the story line.

  • I remember that this is about the worst movie I ever saw. I actually saw it the day it opened, in a crummy theater in Hollywood in the '80s. The one-sheets in theater window were from the film's previous German release (!), and the 35mm print I saw had horrible sound -- the projectionist made it as loud as he could, but you still couldn't hear anything. I wanted this film to be good -- Vonnegut, Lewis, Feldman, Sam Fuller, Merv, etc. -- but every frame was excruciating.

  • I read the pre-release write-up Cinefantastique gave this;about a month later, while it didn't play in our town,Siskel and Ebert made it their "Dog Of The Week".When I finally DID see it on cable,"Boy,what a piece of crap THIS is!"

  • Heavens to Murgatroid! Thanks for uploading the trailer to this rarely seen & little known movie. I don't think it ever had a wide release & I have NEVER seen it shown on TV or seen it or released home video. And in spite of three comedy icons in starring roles, it honestly does NOT look very good.

  • vonnegut was always kind of a hack. this movie is not as good as the book, because they could not show the erections. also, the part where the king is "standing in a sea of candles, hip deep in the milky way"? so great, but the movie is not about that, it's instead about the most boring parts of the book. and on and on. not as bad as the 'breakfast of champions'. not as good as 'americathon'. no star.

  • @giraffehunter715 I know the feeling!!

  • Thanks for uploading this! Its about time someone did. I'm happy to say I own this on DVD :]

  • this looks fantastic!

  • WTF!
