HD Continental Airlines Eco-Skies Boeing 737-800 in United and RetroJet Houston

I was waiting for my flight today December 11, 2010 and I noticed out the corner of my eye a green winglet and said oh the Eco Skies plane is next door. Was all excited and went over to tape it and then I saw that atrocious misspelling of the Continental name on the side of the aircraft. It said United. This is the first time I saw a Continental aircraft with the United name up close and well, I'm sorry but it still looks like a Continental plane to me. I don't associate this current paint scheme with United. Its going to take years before I stop calling it Continental. It's one thing to see videos and photos of it, but up close I was like still looks like Continental to me. Looks a lot more like Continental despite is says United on the side. As a treat the tail of the Continental Airlines Retro Jet can be see in as it is at the next gate. Eco Skies plane was the plane that Continental test bio fuel on to see if they can reduce emissions.

@1990TheProdigy No, none of Continental Planes have wifi. The 757-200 and 777 have AVOD which is touch screen and free. The 737 and 757-300 have Live TX and it is 6 bucks and the 767 have looped tv and it is free

I much rather Continental stay an independent airline and far away from United and if they must merger I'd rather Continental take over and turn United into Continental. Well at least it will look like Continental, I can live with that. Cause every time I see the planes it will be Continental to me despite what is says on the outside as long as it has the Continental paint job.

Continental Livery Sucks, Thats the truth, The name of the Airline is United, Just go back to the Original United Livery and just call it a day. UA Livery will always be Number 1

I love how everyone here seems to try and "shit" all over United.

United and Continental were started by the SAME guy, as Varney Air Lines and Varney Speed Lines, and both have won numerous awards over their spans for various markets and services. United and Continental are/were both World Class Airlines weather you like one or the other or Not. And this merger is only going to improve on the BEST of both airlines. Stop complaining over pointless crap and enjoy the Good.

@osvaldolh I was an unaccompanied minor on a United flight in 2001. United lost me. You can imagine my mom's reaction :-). Luckily I was a smart kid and found the gate myself....

the ceo of continental is running united, there ceo quit, but part of agreement between airlines as mergere is that they have to use the united name, girl freind works for united has been for 16 years

@WorldAirwaysMD11 I frequently flew Continental up until about 5 years ago. The service continued to get worse and worse. I know the feeling of rude flight attendants and sub-par service.

@RatedRo I grew up working at Delta from 70 to 01. Thats 31 years. For me its a bit hard looking at a Continental logo, or the airline. Their logo sucks as will as their crew. I have flown them twice and have been disrespected. I respect everyone of their crew. The only arson i flew them was because of a emergency. Other than that i am never flying them. United has best crew and logo. when i come into SF i only fly their crew. Not continental. 90% of the time of course Delta. R.I.P United

I Hope The Merger Doesn't Go Through Completely, Theres Still A Lil Bit Of Hope, I've Flown On Continental Since I Was 6 Months Old And Ive Pretty Much Traveled The World In Navy Blue Seats With A Blue And Gold Globe Behind Me, I Live 5 Mins Away From IAH So Planes Fly Over My House And Land On 26L, 26R, And 09 Most Of The Time, Im Gonna Miss Continental, Its A Way Better Airline Than The One Its Merging With.

@020808 I 100% agree with you, I get when people talk about the "new" paint scheme, but to you, do you still have that tweak of the mind that says to you, 'new? what's new about this?' it's still Continental just with United on the side of the aircraft, it's not a new livery.

The CO fanboys here are hilarious. It was Jeff Smisek who wanted this merger and called UA up. As for this livery, a horrible horrible mess. United's great name should not be on an ugly a/c such as this with that disgusting globe. It should be right next to the Tulip where it belongs.
