This is from an exclusive 3"cd EP for the 2004 Margerine Eclipse Tour, limited to 2000 copies.

Stereolab is back these days with their best album in many years. It's titled "Chemical Chords" and out now on 4AD.

  • @quaflipoc=thanks for the clarification...it has such an 'old school' Stereolab sound (like it could've come off the first handful of albums soundwise & with it having political/philosophical lyricswise) that it is hard to place in their output & I never got it. And if one judged them ONLY by their EP's , they'd still be a top level band" (eg, the "...Space Age Bachelor Pad Music" EP is still in my top 5 of their output.)=hugely prolific but didn't produce 'throwaways!

  • This track is "Banana Monster Ne Répond Plus".

"Rose, My Rocket Brain!" is the album' title and the second song of the EP (complete title: Rose, My Rocket-Brain! (Rose, Le Cerveau Electronique De Ma Fusée!))

  • Being a stereolab fan has been really rewarding over the years. It's been especially cool to see Tim Gane grow so much as a guitarist. Compare the arpeggiated chords at 1:01 to his early stuff, like PENG,! and it's really striking. Since then, his guitar parts have gotten really deep, with a lot of movement in the chords and some really complex melodies. And yet, he's always kept his playing bounded by that future/retro stereolab sensibility. What a pro.

  • Vamos las bandas! No a la mancha de rolando.

  • One of the best Stereolab songs ever, with a little Deerhoof melodics in there I detect.

  • They need to trust us first? I don't know, that's a lot to ask; what exactly are we getting into here?

  • what i love about stereolab and this track inparticular is that once you've established a trust in the band you can let them take you musically anywhere knowing that you're gonna love it... and you do !

  • can anyone post the lyrics?

  • I was having a shitty day until I heard this song- thank you Stereolab!
