Zante Holiday 2010 - Laganas

A short video I put together with the small amount of footage and photos I shot on my Panasonic GH1 complimented with footage and photo's shot with my iPhone 4 and my friend David's iPhone 4.

Myself, David and Ross spent a week in Laganas in late September 2010 at the Sarakina Apartments. The first few days we had amazing weather but it declined from then and became very stormy. The last day was nice but we had been kicked out of our room which put a downer on things.

Laganas had a good atmosphere and we didn't encounter any trouble although it was basically the last week of the season and was much more quiet than I'm sure it is in peak season. Even though it was late September it was busy enough to have a great time at the clubs which were lively till I could barely stay awake anymore!

We rented a car and explored a little of Laganas surrounding areas. La Bruschetta was a great find, an italian restaurant in the hills of the South West of the island near Keri. Fantastic views, atmosphere and food.

One of the highlights for me was the beach at Laganas. It was a very thin but long beach that curves round the huge bay. I believe it is due to the bay that the water is very shallow, even 20 meters out it was still just up to our waists. The first 2 days when the weather was brilliant the water was very still and you could see the bottom incredibly easily. I have always felt scared of going in the sea but it was so warm, still and clear I ended up loving it.

I would recommend Laganas to a group of friends thinking of going on holiday together but not as a couple or family holiday. It really is a clubbing destination with plenty of the usual activities like boat rides to do during the day - if you can get up after partying till 8am and can afford it after blowing all your money on drink after 2 nights.
