This video has audio which has been recently changed in order to comply with YouTube regulations.

This is a combination of three separate films which are overlayed. Each of the three were filmed during nighttime sky events at The California International Air Show in Salinas CA.

  • This is great. Better than mine, in fact but I posted a video response so others could easily find similar videos. And that's one of my fave songs!

  • @shannonm75 thanks! I just visited your channel - great uploads. There's nothing better than down home videos - no need for anything fancy or complicated; just from the heart. I subbed ya!

  • this was done yesterday at airventure 2010!! it was AWESOME to see in person...... if anyone gets the chance they should go!

  • @Midwestairshows Secondly, I suggest using 16:9 screen mode - what youtube uses as well as all new television screens. Also, your movie editing software often will have options to increase color vibrancy, and it may have chroma screen, such as what I used for this video. Needless to say, fireworks shows are a challenge to film. There is one final suggestion: carefully choose when to pan in and when to pan out - try following rising unexploded shells, and then pan out for the encore.

  • @Midwestairshows First and foremost you set your focus to manual, then put at "infinity" setting. Otherwise, the camera, or camcorder, will have to "find" each explosion after the darkness inbetween, leaving a moment of blurr while it is finding focus. There are options to make the color more vibrant, and I suggest checking your particular cam manual. I've found that as far as camcorder lenses are concerned, the Carl Ziess lenses are better for capturing color of fireworks, and sunsets as well.
