@wil979 recording contracts are mostly offered to musicians that entertain for the masses because that's where the money is. music propagated by the mass media seems to be less creative and less meaningful than that of lesser known musicians and bands, that is until those same unknowns find themselves in the spotlight. that's my theory at least. something like that. im thinking way too hard about this. im gonna go listen to a song now.

1977, San Diego, CA., Bunch of us used to get together at a friends house the same time every week, while his dad was at this Elks meeting. I'm 18 and I'm with my future husband. We would shoot pool and party. This music was always playing. I took it upon myself to watch after his mom, who was having her own party in the kitchen, completely alone. I couldn't leave her by herself all night. When I hear this, it's her I think of. She was so kind and seeing her like that just broke my heart.
