  • you are assuming all the songs are 1st person. they aren't.

  • I love some of their songs but the lyrics can get bitter.

    So much of it is "you have no idea what's it like for ME" and you think: "Fair enough, I guess".

    But then, they write tons of vindictive stuff, judging other people. So do you know what's it like for THEM?

    I point this out because, assuming they're serious about what they sing about, artists pull this sort of scam all the time.

  • When I saw them in Philly like two years ago, Alan joked on stage about how all the way to Philly they were all sick and throwing up on the interstate while driving in that van. Any superficial band would just call it off and that would be that, but not Sparkhawk not low.
