The 40th anniversary of the Moon Landing reminded me, we've also been Star Trekkin' for 40 years.
So I created a filk song, which is a science fiction folk song. It's inspired by Lisa Furukawa's version
of Take Me Home, Country Roads, found here: http://www.lisafurukawa.com/mp3.html and that was recorded at Tsubasacon.
Big thanks to my friend and fellow Star Trek fan, Jerry Conner! He personally created the graphic of
the hospital ship posted with this song, and I have his permission to use it. Also, he kindly took time to help me turn this into an mp4, and then coach me on how to upload it here. Live long and prosper,
amigo. :) Y amigos en paises mas sur, me gustan ustedes mucho! Also thanks to Sruthi on the Indian Show, and her cohost Deepu. They can be heard online
at: http://www.wuvt.vt.edu/listenlive on Saturday afternoons, 1-4 Eastern Time, US. Lots of great Desi
rhythms, there. Also, all my Iranian friends, I wrote the old form Persia in the song because it fit the rhythm - you are poets yourselves, you understand that, I think. :) I may learn it one word at a time, yet I do enjoy learning Farsi, especially when you gift me with such nice words, thank you. Geek buddies,
you may even get more Klingon drummed into my head, before this is all through. *grin*
This is for all of you, and for all my fellow Star Trek fans - Classic Trek or New School, it's all good.
Here's to the next 40 years! Peace and Long Life, Peg
the world's first, and probably only, quadrilingual song!
sort of.
