Part One

"Joe? Joe!" Macy yelled down the long corridor. "Miranda's waiting for you!"
Joe slammed his comb down and checked himself out in the mirror one more time. "This is why girls love me," he said to his reflection. His toned arms looked chiseled in all the right places. His abs were slightly noticeable through his white t-shirt. He opened his bedroom door and yelled, "I'm coming Miranda-Boo!"
Joe Jonas was his uncle's only nephew. They lived together in a mansion on Newfoundland Shores. Joe was filthy rich.
"Miranda, baby, I missed you," he cooed as he walked into the living room. Miranda (Kerr) was on his couch. He made his way towards her.
"Hi my Love!" She chirped and kissed both his cheeks.
He smiled. "It's been too long. How's work?"
"Absolutely tiring."
"Ah," Joe teased. "It must be tiring to be pretty all day."
Miranda laughed. It sounded like music.
"You must be hungry," he mused. He took her hand in his and gave it a slight squeeze.
"You know me well, Darling," Miranda said slyly.
Joe called for the maid. He sent the maid with instructions back to the kitchen.
"So, how are you feeling today?" Miranda asked as she scooted over to make room for Joe. She pulled him down beside her.
Joe obliged. He laid down beside her and closed his eyes. The doctors had given him 8, 760 days to live. Twenty-four years. He was already twenty-three. Only a year left.
"I'm alright."
"You sound a little sad."
He smiled a sad one. "Indeed."
