Audio from the crash of Cactus Flight 1549 (US Airways) in the Hudson River, January 15th, 2009. This preliminary composite audio timeline includes the recordings released by the FAA from La Guardia Air Traffic Control Tower, New York Terminal Radar Approach Control (TRACON) and Teterboro ATCT. While the transcripts and audio files released by the FAA contain some inaccuracy, by combining them on a single timeline, the overall precision can be increased. The availability of the cockpit voice recordings and digital flight data recorder (CVR and DFDR) will eventually allow a high-fidelity reconstruction.

Portions of the timeline have been removed to shorten the presentation, however, begining with the time that Cactus Flight 1549 is cleared for takeoff there is complete continuity (no segments are removed). Controllers refer to the flight both as "Cactus 1549" and "Cactus 1529". [Cactus is a reference to the Arizona-based US Airways company].

Further information and analysis will be presented on our webpage at: http://www.exosphere3d.com/pubwww/pages/project_gallery/cactus_1549_hudson_ri...

Just to clarify, nobody but the immediate parties involved will have access to the actual "cockpit audio". You are hearing the air traffic control recorded audio. The real cockpit voice recording will be a completely different data set.

  • The part of "radar contact is lost" sounds just as chilly as all other accidents, it feels really good that despite that everybody was safe.

Cold-headed, is part of what PIC means.

  • I am meeting Patty H this weekend!!! yay! he is a major part of this accident, he is the ATC New York Departure.

  • Unable...

    We maybe end in Hudson...

  • @Inmortal80 its 1549, doesnt matter that atc gave the wrong number through tho, as long as there were emergency services at the runway :p

  • @raffialexanian 3 minutes so they could put proper spacing between him and the traffic that would be in front of him, because they were both going to Charlotte. It's easier to get the separation on the ground than having to deal with them on top of each other in the air.

  • Amazing.

  • The plane was going to charlotte, I live 6 miles from charlotte and IDK that the plane was going to charlotte. wow..

  • Captain Sullenberger was raidios from push to splash

  • He did call out mayday. The departure controller stepped on it while attempting to transmit on frequency.

  • Cause in the right side of your pc speaker u can listen the La Guardia departure and in the left side you can hear Kennedy departure
