TITLE: Christie Road
ALBUM: Kerplunk
YEAR: 1992
SINGLE? No

- LYRICS -

Staring out of my window
Watching the clouds
Go rolling by
My friends are gone
I've got nothing to do

So I sit here patiently
Watching the clock
Tick so slowly
Gotta get away
Or my brains will explode

Give me something to do to kill some time
Take me to that place that I call home
Take away the strains of being lonely
Take me to the tracks at Christie Road

See the hills from afar
Standing
On my beat up car
The sun went down
And the night fills the sky

Now I feel like me
Once again
As the train comes rolling in
Smoked my boredom gone
Slapped my brains up so high

Give me something to do to kill some time
Take me to that place that I call home
Take away the strains of being lonely
Take me to the tracks at Christie Road

Mother, stay out of my way
Of that place we go
We'll always seem
To find our way
To Christie Road

Mother, stay out of my way
Of that place we go
We'll always seem
To find our way
To Christie Road

If there's one thing that I need
That makes me feel complete
So I go to Christie Road

It's home
It's home
It's home
It's home
It's home

  • I'm 13 years old, so usually people assume that I only know like 21 Guns or American Idiot when I say that Green Day is my favorite band. I know more about Green Day then most of the fans from the 90s and I only need 2 more of their cds. My absolute favorite songs are Christie Road, Paper Lanterns, 2000 Light Years Away, Chump, Haushinka, Going to Pasalaqua, Reject, Blood Sex and Booze, and Stuck With Me. They have inspired me to the point I can cry when listening to them. Green Day forever <3

  • Anyone who says they hate Green Day obviously hasn't listened to a single track before 2000. I'll admit they've lost some of their touch with the last album, but they're still a great band.

  • @amandasnape13 I'm almost 14 now but, I LOVE Green Day and I totally get what your talking about! I love all the songs from American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown but their older stuff is unbeatable. I wish I was born when all their older albums came out. Oh, well. :/ Nobody here in my crappy town in Wisconsin listen to Green Day... They all say they suck.. I tell them they don't know what real music is.. I'm blabbering now so. yea. It was nice hearing from someone of my age group! :)
