  • Was this the station across from Del Rio, Texas?

  • @docsavage98 I'm sorry, I'm not quite sure. This is a record from the radio at the Mexico border.

    PS: Sorry for late answer

  • The announcer sounds like Charley the crazy newscaster from Hee Haw.

  • @docsavage98 Because U.S. federal regulations did not apply in Mexico. A station in Mexico could trasmit programs at as many watts as they wanted. These programs could be heard almost all over the U.S. because of the huge amount of wattage they used, and thus effectively covered up much of the competition.

  • "lonesome valley" doesn't sound like an "old time love song" to me

  • Detroit Nojoke loves it. This music touches your soul.

  • Yes, this was the station in Acuna across the river from Del Rio.

  • XET was broadcast in Southeaster KY, Southwestern Virginia...

  • fantastic!!

  • Thanks for posting - very good live performances!
