Much excitement in the studio this morning as we surprised Principal Artist Lucinda Dunn with cake, flowers and streamers to celebrate her 20th year with the company. A marvellous and much-loved ballerina and, as David McAllister said in his speech, "an inspiration to the whole company", Lucinda is the first female dancer of The Australian Ballet to reach this milestone. And what was she doing on her first day with the company, 20 years ago? Rehearsals for Romeo and Juliet (the Cranko version). Full circle!
We look forward to welcoming Lucinda back to the stage after the birth of her second child. In the meantime, watch Lucinda in action in three of her favourite ballets. Congratulations Luci and here's to many more years!
