Produced by Ken Kokin (Ususal Suspects and Sundace Winner, Public Access), the TOMS Shoes Shoe Drop experience is beautifully documented to reflect the One for One mission, "With every pair you purchase, TOMS will give a new pair of shoes to a child in need." The first Shoe Drop took place in Argentina in October of 2006, when TOMS Shoes Founder and Chief Shoe Giver Blake Mycoskie and his team brought 10,000 pairs of shoes to distribute to children in need.

And how much do the TOMS shoe makers get paid? 25 cents per hour. Anyway, TOMS shoes have the Argentina flag, which is stupid because authentic alpargatas are from Spain. I have Spanish made alpargatas that only cost me about 12 Euros, and they are actually better.
For the amount it's worth, it's not just you buying a pair of shoes, but also for a child. People who don't comprehend the market that goes into this should be able to because it's common sense. We would desperately call for help if we were in their feet, but the fact is we aren't because we're fortunate and because of that we take it for granted... people who look at a price and not the bigger picture will forever be hypocrites once the issue is turned onto them.
Just got my pair dropped off at my doorstep a minute ago! It IS quite expensive for a lot of people, but i figured 10 bucks more than what I usually pay for shoes, is worth it if another pair goes out to children in need.
Just got my first pair of TOMS and love them. And the way I see it is I've paid for Phil Knight's yacht fuel for long enough. I would drop 80 to 100 on Nikes without really batting an eye. I loved getting and now wearing these TOMS!!
