It depends on what you're scoring for, Duran was the aggressor, he also set the pace and tempo for the fight, i gave Buchanan more rounds than the judges did but Duran won, no doubt, low blow or not he dominated Buchanan regardless of how he did it, Duran was an aggressive inside fighter and he fought his fight well.
@theman1819 i have watched the fight countless times and am a fan of both fighters and cant see how the judges had Duran ahead on all scorecards, the cleaner work seemed to be coming from Buchanan and the brawling and occasional headbutting seemed to be coming from Duran, Boxing judges are bloody scandalous sometimes
This documentary is scandalously dishonest when saying that it was Johnny LoBianco's first title fight and his last. Complete nonsense!! LoBianco had many big title fights before and more later. It has never been clear to me exactly what happened to Buchanan at the end of the 13th. They were both throwing after the bell. If it happened today, Buchanan might be given 5 minutes to recover.
i gotta say buchanan got a raw deal against duran.if duran fouled him after the bell he should have been disqualified.buchanans handler gil clancy did fuck all to help ken that night.but then gil clancy did fuck all to help jerry quarry as well
when a boxer takes a shot low(as i have) its impossible to stand up straight, the body naturally bends at the waist.all credit to Buchanan who was one of the best but watch the fight closely after the alleged low blow.
thats what you get when you hit someone after the bell you get a low blow, still kens a great fighter but duran is the best lightweight of all time and ken stuck it out pretty good.
"Cross over the line and you'll get that" quality!! buchanan is a legend.
