  • So is $120 a barrel a bad thing, I mean from an environmental point of view aren't you a better person?

  • That is a very positive way of looking at it.

  • I wanted to see that film "Who killed the Electric Car?" It only played one night at the Tower and I wasn't able to make it. I am not much for renting movies, I don't even have an account anywhere. Oh well. Was that the justification? ... that the batteries were super toxic? Good call on the Hummers. I guess they have a Hybrid Hummer coming out, it must get what, like 15 miles to the gallon!

  • There never really is a justification made for the total destruction of the cars. You just see it happen. What is crazy is they take a trip to a car shredder and you see some other car manufactures shredding new electric cars.

  • Very thoughtful response. Thanks.

  • oil hasn't gone up very significantly. there have been some slight variations in price, but for the most part it has remained a stable commodity. the reason why the price is perceivably going up is because the value of your paper is going down. since the federal reserve's conception in 1913, the dollar has lost approximately 97% of its value. today's dollar is worth less than two cents compared to the dollar of 1912.

  • I would imagine one answer is electric cars. However I'm sure oil companies can politically manipulate countries. I drive 40 miles a day for work, I just drop the speed a little for the journey, I'm sure this makes a difference. I just feel for the people stuck behind me - sorry people!

  • bad example. The car is my tool and I can do with it what I want. If I pay for electricity, and the more I use, the more I pay... To Hell with anyone else... I bought it... so deal with it. If the neighborhood blacks out, that's the lazy power company's fault, not mine. The more regulations and laws that restrict my freedom, the more I will look at this country like the Stalinist regiem it is becoming.... Down with the Socialist Democrats... Down with Socialist Republicans... long live Liberty!

  • A car is just a tool. You can use tools in a socially responsible way or not. For example, if I have a drill that uses all the power in the neighborhood and blacks out my neighbors, that would be socially irresponsible.

  • it's a car. And socially responsible??? Figures, you're a socialist. Personal Liberty is way more important that some stupid notion of social responsiblity.
