The following hadith is sufficient to prove that we muslims dont worship the black stone.

According to Sahih Bukhari, Volume 2, book of Hajj, chapter 56, H.No. 675. Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "I know that you are a stone and can neither benefit nor harm. Had I not seen the Prophet (pbuh) touching (and kissing) you, I would never have touched (and kissed) you"

Well difference of opinion is natural... but i think, i can give you a hadith which would prove that we muslims never worship the black rock... Regarding the black rock where one pilgrimages to it, kisses & hugs it? My opinion differs with yours!

@Adonomos Brother i think its common sense... If i say that you are a very good person, you are one of the best human beings i ever met and if i throw a party or name a STREET in my city after you, doesn't mean im doing idolatry... COMMON SENSE BROTHER!!!

True Christians believe God is the God of the living not the dead and the Jews believed this.
