Interviews (including one with John Payne, the One Armed Bandit) AND footage from the 75th Anniversary of the Omak Stampede and Suicide Race near the Colville Indian Reservation, Omak Washington. This video barely scratches the surface of how complex and rich in history this event is - the rodeo and the race down Suicide Hill. It's drawn thousands of fans and a handful of animal rights activists every year, for 75 years.

The horses are the only ones going down the hill. If the horses fall we do too, the humans are more likely to be trampled that the horses. Think about it you crazy nutters.

im from omak...and what people dont understand is the horses really love running down that hill....the reason they fall is the riders fault.....so quit bitchin and if you dont like it, stay the fuck out of omak!!!!

@ebblondie Put a 20lb backpack on and run your own ass down that hill as fast as you can possibly run, swim through that water, keep running your twisted ankles to the finish line while a bunch of guys stand on the sideline whipping you with towels, and then come back and talk to me about the race. I'll respect your thoughts at that point.

@lavalizard3 the cowboys choose to do it as well as the horses, other wise the horses wouldn't even go it's in their dna you can't make a horse walk over a pile of snakes can you? They will do what they want.
