I love the image sequence with this song. I never noticed it completely until I watched the video but this song is a kind of expression of resistance to particular ways of thinking about "rest" and "work "in our time. Its as if John is saying: sleep is a universal experience of the human, as universal as breathing, so don't call me "lazy" for at least enjoying that which I cannot, not do.

John was so damn good on the acoustic guitar. The problem is it's usually hard to hear his guitar on many Beatles songs. But on these acoustic versions, and especially on his demos in the 70's and 1980, I LOVE his strumming and chord progressions. He's the main guy I want to emulate on acoustic guitar.
