A former rock star finds himself in the ironic position of saving the life of a timber wolf. This is a story about wild things, both human and animal and the powerful bond that developed between a drummer and a wolf named "Chance".

Second Chance is the story about how former Blue Oyster Cult drummer Ron Riddle's life was transformed when he met a captive wolf named Chance. Through their years of living together, each grew to give the other the greatest gift either of them would ever receive: the freedom they would come to discover in interdependence, survival and unconditional love.

This is a modern take on a classic story in the spirit of Jack London's White Fang. After years of living the wild life of a touring Rock n Roll musician, Ron Riddle married and found himself settling down. Yet for Ron, it was anything but settling. Married life was wonderful, but he found himself losing his cherished identity as a wild man, free from responsibilities.

  • You tell your mom that is not a guarantee. Just because he is a wolf doesn't mean he will suddenly go wild and try to be Alpha. Though they have instincts, not all animals are the same. They have personalities too. I hate it when people look at them as nothing but killers.

  • Bless you,he's an amazing animal & you are amazing too!Nature is wonderous and our link to the infinite if we only open our eyes to see.

  • very nice

  • I agree to him being a low to mid content. He was definitly not a pure wolf. He did look like a very nice animal though. Some one said in the comments below that they thought of possibly trying to reintroducing him with a wild wolf pack, good thing that did not happen as the pack would have killed him most likely.

  • Nice malamute mix :) Low to mid content wolfdog.

  • R.I.P Chance! You will be missed =(

  • I knew Chance for nearly a decade. he was the sweetest and gentlest creature. Ron and Andrea are both amazing, few people could have saved him as well and as lovingly as they did.

  • I was really saddened to hear of Chance's passing last week...

    Ron & andrea both devastated...

    R.I.P. Chance....

  • This Video is very encouraging. My wife and I rescued a 11 week old Wolf pup from a bad situation as well. Her name is Mia she is the most beautiful thing in the world, she has the best temperament. She has been an incredible addition to our family. I have a thousand questions lol.. if you would be kind enough to communicate.

  • well god bless you, they are beautiful creatures :-)

  • CHance is to heavy....he eats to much haha *

  • Bad! No, do not do that. Wolves are NOT just "big dogs"! They're not dangerous to people, but they are much, MUCH more work than a dog ever could be. Wolves run 10-40 miles a day, every day. They do not ever get "full" (i.e. they'll eat and eat as long as there's food around) and they are highly territorial (i.e. they'll mark everything in sight).
