Matt's dad Tom Smith plays trombone on an early Duke Ellington composition with the Gregg Gelb Swing Band, from a 1999 children's concert with the North Carolina Symphony. The GGSB was one the most influential groups from the 90s swing revival and helped influence the Squirrel Nut Zippers and others. Composition #1 is the original 1920s small group version of "Jubilee Stomp" by Duke Ellington. The second composition "Blues Opener" was composed by Gelb.
