Before I heard this song, I read somewhere that it was written between the time River collapsed on the sidewalk and the time he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Hearing it from that perspective makes it seem so hopeful... as if we really don't know how it's going to turn out... we hope okay, but then we wake up and realize it's all over... he didn't make it.
Beautiful hopefully cute little thing, but knowing the outcome makes it all the more tragic when the song is over :(
