50 pound test monofiliment works also and you get 200 yards for $2. It's also biodegradable and super lightweight.

experienced woodsmans trick - after cutting halfway snap it between the crook of two trees or just bash it on the ground. leverage and momentum do the rest.

I know I'm a little late on this...but to save resources strip the paracord to have multiple strands. Also paul from hedge hog leatherworks gives a great tutorial on lashing a tripod here watch?v=k-btbzNu4So

@theNewCodingFrontier Not really mate, the cord I used is part of the shelter kit, so not cutting it as it was only a temporary tripod

insted of using of that cord a better not to use is a jam not it uses alot les cord :)
