Spinning a toroid for a Tesla coil

This is how I make my Toriods. The disks I cut were too big and I had to edit out some of the difficulty I had because of it. I normally buy pre cut disks off ebay. The trimming was a pain because of this. I did realize that the disks should be cut close to the final size, the extra material became warped and cracked and made trimming very hard. The material is .050 1100 aluminum.

@TheSethGalleyChannel Its just a harbor freight wood lathe its like 600 bucks. I bought the spinning tools on ebay from a guy named Terry Tynan, just search "metal spinning".

@CrashByron I was thinking about it but they don't line up perfectly. I'm actually making some new mandrels right now to make them bigger.

@imsmoother I bought the lathe a year ago but it took me a year to actually make toriods with it. So far im just making 9 inch and 6 inch ones. I can make 13 inch ones max. Its a pain in the ass.
