Yakima Viper bike rack (8002000) review video & demo by ORS Racks Direct. Demonstration movie of the Yakima Racks Viper fork mount bicycle carrier showing features including its classic Yakima styling with rapid bike loading characteristics. The Yakima Viper fits any bicycle size and shape including road racing bikes with skinny tires on up to cruiser / hybrid bike tires and mountain bike knobby tires including very fat 3 inch freeride / downhill bikes and 29ers. Yakima Viper is also compatible with mountain bikes with disc brakes. Fork mount design delivers very aerodynamic and fuel efficient performance. Easy to use one-handed skewer adjustment using Yakima engineered brass dial mechanism for quick adjustment of skewer. Simply place bike on fork mount and adjust brass dial for proper tightness. Perform this function only the first time and no need to make adjustment thereafter. Simply place bike fork onto skewer and close shut the Viper skewer, no adjusting necessary. Easy to use rear ratcheting strap holds rear wheel securely in place. Yakima Viper bike rack mounts directly to Yakima round bars and Thule square bars. If interested in carrying a bike on factory rack crossbars you will need to choose one of Yakima Racks upright mount bike racks (both wheels remain on when loading onto bike rack). Optionally lock bicycle inside the carrier using a Yakima SKS lock core. Also, when the Yakima Viper skewer is inserted and locked closed using a Yakima lock core, it prevents anyone from being able to pull up the red lever on the Viper head assembly and steal the bike rack itself.

  • this really helped me decide between the steelhead and the viper.....it tipped me towards the viper since it accommodates disc brakes. thanks!
