I love this place - some of my childhood holidays were spent here in the 60's. I think it's still great now with a lot to see if you look beyond the amusement arcades on the front. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for your comment,yes some things have closed but it's still a lovely place,we've been going there for years and we hope to carry on for a few more.

Pity the council don't use the fortune they rake in from parking on upgrading the place! :)

I worked on the spa cliff lift filmed in this video, and have lived in Scarborough for over 20 years. Unfortunately this video only shows the "nice" parts of the town. A few shots of the run down estates like Edgehill or Barrowcliff would soon change your mind. The local council only cares about the tourist spots and neglects the people who live there.

There were 2 reasons why I chose the song..1st. I thought it was a nice romantic song that blends in well with the views of Scarborough and 2nd. I don't have a copy of " Oh I do like to be beside the seaside"
