Well I got there after two years , finally doing Speech 10 of the Toastmasters Competent Communicator manual.
I've had to trim the start and end to fit within YouTube limits, this doesnt detract much from the overall speech
I got slightly caught out at start by not having a proper Powerpoint clicker- the mouse range was about two feet and really threw me at the start, so did ad-libbing to get the word "epiphany" into my speech (it was word of the evening).I also looked at the screen way too much at start for some reson even though I was trying to avoid that completely! (must have hypnotised myself with big screen!)
But when I relaxed and got going I did quiet well (for a second ever Powerpoint presentation including doing my own graphics.)
The speech was intended to be delivered to a group of people who hadnt been to Toastmaster meetings before, although I forgot to get the TM to mention this in my introduction. . Doh! (Note to self.... Prepare, EVEN MORE !) Most importantly I had a great time doing it and creating the graphics was a learning experience in its own right as well
Thanks for sharing. I'm giving my CC#10 in about 6 hours. Scripps Teasers Toastmasters Club in San Diego, California.
