This is a song composed for a soprano by Zheng Qiufeng (郑秋枫)to the lyrics of Qu Cong (瞿琮) for the film Overseas Compatriots (海外赤子) (1979) starring Chen Chong (陳冲), also known as Joan Chen. The voice of the song that appeared in the film is that of Ye Peiying (叶佩英). The song is now unofficially in a position in China similar to that of America the Beautiful in USA.
