99 Bricks Hard Badge (Kongregate)

As opposed to some of the more, well, skill-intensive methods of completing this badge, there's always the block equivalent of spray and pray.

Essentially, use your first few blocks to make a small, 2-4 square wide steady base. Best for this are two of the same L block fitted together, a few consecutive S blocks, or a green cube or two. The base doesn't really need to be that large, considering even a small base helps keep even the craziest spires steadier.

From there, hold Down and Z (to drop and zoom) and Up so all of the blocks autorotate to their highest. Spam C on everything but purples 'till you hit something like 450-500, and then do a quick check on your tower. If it's swaying like crazy, mash down and hope you make it. If it's relatively steady, try and keep deleting non-purple/greens to try and keep it that way. The minute your tower starts to look unstable, just smash every block on - It's not staying up no matter how carefully you place that S-block, so you might as well get the height out of it.

You need some luck to get this badge anyway, so I figure it's more efficient to do a run per minute than taking 5-6 on a carefully constructed tower. If you want to do THAT, take on the Impossible badge, I suppose.

I always get the wrong block. every 10 blocks I get the one I want. :( but really good way to win, It just needs luck, which I don't have.

I'll admit that this particular run was a bit of an anomaly what with the huge pile of green blocks right up front. It'll usually take somewhere in the range of 10-15 tries to get it with this method (sometimes you'll have a drought or a flood of good runs, of course), but the best part is that you can usually know whether or not you'll be resetting within the first 10-20 bricks, so it enables you to abandon the bad runs very quickly.
