AMA played a major role in the week long makeover of this primary school in Ealing, which was televised by the BBC. All of our work, along with that of the project managers, contractors and other designers was voluntary. At the end of the week Ty Goddard of the BCSE called it, An amazing learning space. The vision was to create a blank canvas, a completely flexible space the creativity will come from the work the children will make and display here. The amazing double height space allowed the introduction of a mezzanine level to give a flexible personalised learning / exhibition / multi-media space on an upper level. Additional low level storage and a washable work surface was created under the exterior windows and more storage has been designed for under the stair to the mezzanine. A suspended acoustic panel treatment has been hung from the ceiling and an interactive white board with integrated projector fitted to the teaching wall.
