I haven't seen this movie, but the acting in this scene alone is incredible. When Christian is talking about Huey Lewis and the News, you can tell he's eager to get to the killing. When he's hacking away at Paul with a hatchet, he just lets all his insanity loose. Finally, when it's all over, he looks completely normal, like nothing happened. All this great acting, and yet Christian Bale wasn't even nominated for an Oscar.
This scene is one of the greatest pieces of filmmaking I have ever seen.
