Edison Blue Amberol record, released in 1916, played on my Edison Amberola 30.
From the Edison catalouge: Starts with a realistic imitation of a railroad train. Then comes the rattlig tune. Both words and music remind one of that "railroad classic", "Casey Jones". Edward Meeker has amused Edison owners for many years with his rattling renditions, and this one is quite up to his usual standard"

  • @Westtoledoguy The sound effects give this record that little extra to make it great!

  • @VictrolaJazz And a lot of those songs are fun, like this one! It is indeed a good recording, and the fidelity is pretty good, considering it was dubbed from a Diamond Disc!

  • another great cylinder

  • @Edisonfans19 Glad you enjoyed it! Love most of Meeker's recordings!

  • The railroad and its accompanying sounds and traditions furnished a wealth of subjects for songs throughout the first 30 years of the 20th Century! Wonderful record with great fidelity!

  • Very nice recording Paal!
