Wikipedia says that "The Gurdjieff movements are the name given to the collective body of sacred dances that were collected or authored by G. I. Gurdjieff and taught to his students as part of the work of self observation and self study. Certain of Gurdjieff's followers claim that the Gurdjieff Movements can only be properly transmitted by those who themselves have been initated in the direct line of Gurdjieff; otherwise, they say, it leads nowhere."
There are different human types and each type has its own mechanical postures. Real self observation can be possible through the movement center only if these mechanical postures can be consciously changed. Yet there are also many positions acquired by imitation or imposition and this makes things even more complicated. Only after a deep observation can the teacher tell the student which will be his role in the dance play, and so must the teacher be someone with a high degree of consciousness. I really think there's no people like this anymore within our common lives.
