@thekooldude215 It's a fact that it's very easy to disarm a system hooked up to the telephone line by the way I described. I also stated that not every alarm system is hooked up by the phone line so you are being redundant. If they have it run through their cable you only have to disconnect or cut the cable. When the alarm company calls the homeowner they won't even know why they are no longer getting a signal and adt won't even call 911.

@rooster26730 First of all the system will not disarm itself if the phone line is cut. Thats a old myth spread by idiots. It will not disarm itself until the right code is punched in on the keypad. Second 60% of homes in the united states don't have phone lines so adt Always suggests a cellular backup. Which sends the signal through cell towers without a phone line. And if a system misses a dialer test adt notifies the homeowner that something is wrong.

People buy these alarm systems for security but they aren't so great. Most of them run off of the phone system. Outside of the house is a box with a phone jack in it. This is where the system is connected to the house. All a criminal has to do is is unscrew one screw and disconnect the phone line. The system is then easily disarmed. Some run on cable and some on wireless. They are better. Even better is a big dog.

My personal opinion is that you should look at other options that are way more customer friendly and can use technology that was made in the 21st century like VOIP or the internet.
Bottom Line do not use ADT Home or Business Security Service.

ADT sucks. They are bloated and cost way to much. Other companies can do the same for $20 a month with video monitoring included. ADT is a brand name and that is ALL they are. Your paying for the name, not for the service. A smaller company does the same for $20 a month, NOT $60+ a month.

ADT will match and beet any competitor and give you a free system check them out 1877-445-9422 it wont hurt to call and ask.

In Mexico ADT it does not serve for anything, always the hands are washed and it is painful
