How does this compare to the Eschalon games?

@atmospherepro I played Eschalon Book 1. It's similar, the biggest difference (that I can recall) is the party-based system in Avadon.

Really brilliant game. I swear, Paul Soares manages to get me to spend my money. Since this time last year Minecraft, Terraria, Dredmor, and now Avadon.
