I do not see a shortage of sharks at all but they will not let the commercial fishermen fish for them. The so call conservation groups like the cca have made stopping the commercial fishing into a big money making business with the donations from the public that does not know what is really going on and from the government grants for their bad data on the fish. Please do not believe all their lies.Read my channel info

  • some sharks are deplleated but others are not as youve shown here....and u have a really good point....you never see any reaserch vessels but all the scientist say there trying to help shark populations

  • Were allowed to keep white dotters inside of 3 miles but we have to keep them whole until we hit the dock so expert biologists can identify the species. To keep them outside of 3 miles, you must possess a federal shark permit. You can purchase one for maybe 10,000 $. You also have to have a sattelite tracking device on your vessel as well. I feel like a damn criminal. I should start dealing illegal substances, less penalties !!!

  • The RV Sabine Lake samples twice a month from Cameron to High Island, out to nine miles.. LA does not have any sampling west of Cameron, so we do it for them. We have a longline study for sharks just kicking off, but our water depth on the upper coast doesnt really fit into the sampling structure like the lower coast. Alot of the people who study this stuff are fisherman. Everyone out of the Sabine lab is a fisherman. Our data is accurate and reflects there are plenty of fish out there.

  • the RV sabine lake samples from cameron to near high island. out to 9 miles as thats the data that the TX and LA is interested in. yeah there are sharks, but we dont catch them in our try net. We have a longline sampling program that is just beginning. but our water depth on the upper coast doesnt quite fit into the sampling program like the lower coast does.. who knows what they are going to do. But I can tell you on the west side of sabine bank, the sharks are all you can catch!
