Description of Facebook Edgerank Algorithm. Facebook uses the Edgerank algorithm to determine the posts that should be shown on a user's Top News feed. The algorithm works reasonably similar to Search Engine Optimization.
Klurig Analytics, specialists in Social Media ROI, created this video to show how the algorithm works and why it is necessary for a social media marketer to understand the Facebook Edgerank Algorithm in order to write posts that are displayed on users' Top News feed.

  • Wonderfully explained.

  • @praskuma Hello, thanks for the great words. I took a quick look around and I noticed that you write positive comments on a few other videos. I thank you for that. It is always a great feeling when you create something and someone else notices. Again, thanks to you.

  • Is the audio on this video horrible or is it just me? Aside from that the info is fantastic, just wish I could have actually heard it better.

  • @TheSkullunit Hi, thanks for the comment. Yes, you are correct, the audio is a bit low. Next video, I will make sure it is louder. Feel free to contact us on our website for additional info on the algorithm or social media ROI. Kluriganalytics dot c o m

  • This was really valuable and useful information. Can you give us an update following the introduction of the new Timeline as no doubt it will have affected the algorithm . Thanks for the share.

  • @OnlineSuccessSkills Hello. Thanks for your comment. I have not yet looked into how Timeline will affect the algorithm. I am guessing that Timeline will affect the algorithm but I am guessing not much. The reason is that no matter what tools (timeline) you use, the three most important pieces of information is still Time: the amount of time since you wrote/uploaded something; Affinity: how close you are to the user; and Weight: what is the "thing" that you wrote. Lots of guesses, I know.
