Elvis Presley Lawdy Miss Clawdy baldyholly

Lawdy Miss Clawdy was first recorded by Lloyd Price in 1952 on the Speciality label. It became a Nbr1 for 7 weeks on the Rhythm and Blues charts. The words were written by Price, but the melody was adapted from the older Junker Blues, by Champion Jack Dupree in 1941. Dave Bartholomew's band, which included Fats Domino backed Price on the recording. In 1956 the song was covered by Elvis Presley.
