jANI, DONT ABUSE WHAT EVERY OTHER MUSO WANTS IN LIFE, You got a second chance with Warrant and blew it, I cant believe how bad you were here., but dont worry, old bands with new lead singers dont do much these days,

I saw the back of my head in the front how LOL

But, with Jani, it isn't his age that has affected his vocal ability--it's the booze/drugs he's put into his body for way too many years. Some singers do lose their edge as they age but I have heard Jani sing in later years & he still sounded good (maybe before his boozing got so bad).

@rosspelton Which is almost NEVER...

WolfHeavyMetal : Spare us your pontificating. Jani may be a has-been, but you are a never-was. So cut your hair and lose the stupid screen name.

He doesn't..... When he's clean and sober.

Poor Jani
I'm seeing him in July!
I saw Warrant live in July, 1991, and let me tell ya:
Jani Lane sounded AMAZING then. Just like the record. The whole band were tight as could be. They were as good as it gets.
BUT as a former singer myself, I can tell you that it is a difficult job, and that drugs and alcohol can make it virtually impossible to perform well. A singer needs to be sober, and to do vocal exercises to warm up. It's hard to be a good rock singer. It takes dedication.

I do somewhat agree with the earlier comment about bands not being able to successfully switch singers easily, but I must say that Iron Maiden really traded up to Bruce, AC/DC didn't make a bad choice with Brian, Dio wasn't exactly horrible in Black Sabbath, etc. Although, I guess the list of bands that fail with a new singer is much longer. Anyway, long live 80s hair metal, and Jani, even though you can't sing your way out of a wet paper bag anymore, you rocked when it counted.
