Christmas In The Moorlands - Collaboration with Bob Pegritz

Mike Gallagher and Bob Pegritz wrote this song and Bob encouraged me to sing it. He played the beautiful flute , which gave the whole song a special magic.
I didin´t have pictures of smoking chimneys or turf fires, so I just added some winter pictures of my home.

O'er the hills of Donegal And in Kilkenny town

Orion guards the star-lit sky A host of angels sing on high
Under God's own watchful eye The earth awaits the dawn

And round the turf fires in the towns of Leitrim, Cork and County Down
Chimney smoke just like a crown Encircles us tonight

Glory to our newborn king Choirs of angels softly sing
And echo round old Kerry's ring To tell us the good news




From Bethlehem to Ballinasloe On mountain top and valley low
Through moorlands let the message go Christ is born this day
