I guess I'm saying what others are saying - if Alex had not been mishandled, she could have gone down in history as one of the best. Meaning Romania would have had FOUR of the best ever on one team.

@russianskatingfan I know it was within the rules-and I STILL say it was WRONG to take her out of a major AA TWICE. We'll just agree to disagree and be done with it.

The sad part if the Romanians were not injured they would have won team gold.

@HailieNichole1995 Marinescu could not have medaled. The only event she was capable of a really big score was beam and her vaulting sucked compared to the top women. And Amanar did have a chance to win the AA, she just didnt perform her best that day and made a big mistake on floor but still medalled. The Romanians got 3 medals with the 3 they put in the AA, so they clearly made the right choice.

@russianskatingfan We have different opinions as to who should have gone through to the all around, but I don't think it fair that if Alexandra qualified that she should be pulled out. Maybe Simona had the better chance, but did she win the gold? No. Therefore I don't see it justifiable to put her in over Marinescu due to the fact that Marinescu could have meddled, just maybe not the gold.

If not for a horrible coach named Octavian Belu she might have had the chance to compete in the two major AA's she qualified to-the Olympics in 1996 and Worlds in 1997. But Belu always preferred his pet Amanar over the Bucharest firecracker who upstaged his robotic gymnasts on personality alone.
