Although Dr. Quiring started out college as a confused freshman, in the next few years he had his B.A. and M.A. in Geography and was beginning the work for his Ph.D. in Climatology. In this video, he talks about how he got there, what he focuses on now, and working with college students from all different levels of study.

Main areas of research: * Nature and predictability of droughts * Modeling power outage risk during hurricanes * Soil moisture & crop yield modeling * Influence of climate change on the hydrologic cycle

  • Gee - a student-centered prof at TAMU - make me want to go back to school and take climatology! Do you think TAMU would give credits for watching the weather channel? - I'd have a PhD for sure! GREAT video - good luck in B/CS and watch out for the fire ants on the golf course...Aggie '90 & '02 (& Aggie Mom or your talented video editor!)
