Making "Tokoroten"心太

One day,I made "Tokoroten" from edible seaweeds with my daughter.
It's a healthy summer dessert, so simbolic and traditional for Japanese.
however I often eat it with soysauce and vinegar, this time with "kuro-mitsu"sweet syrup. Yummy yummy :)

HI! I watched many times your video and craved tokoroten!!! So inspired!

Now I've buyed via internet the tentsuki in EBAY but they brake or do not come properly like a noodle!!! is a kind of puree... :-( totally desapointed... maybe I do not have the right proportions of kanten and water?

I'm using the one it comes in strings almost 10 grs each bar.

Will you able to help me Please? Thank you in advance!

@izumiishi hi! OOps, you're from Argentin, I had no idea that I've receive such kinda comment from out of Japan. I made Tokoroten with genuine Ten-gusa, a sea wead, not from Kanten, when I took this vid. I guess the texture is totally different.

I heard Kanten should be cooked 40~80°c and use 7g kanten for 500ml of water.

Oops, it's not easy to tell you what it is like.... I think its texture is what we're into.

Tokoroten doesn't taste itself, that means we can choose any taste with it.

I prefer have it with such sweeeeeet syrup.

Why not you come to Japan and try it?
