Take the god concept out of the equation and we would still be undertaking the same real moral issues facing humanity. Religion simply confuses everything.

Humanism is a progressive philosophy of life that, without theism and other supernatural beliefs, affirms our ability and responsibility to lead ethical lives of personal fulfillment that aspire to the greater good of humanity.
Also, Secular Humanists [SHs] (yes, there are other types of Humanism), don't believe in a "salvation"; which centers around the idea of a heaven/after-life. SHs believe that there is NO after-life and each person only gets one life.

yes, but without religion, we mean nothing. as well as the fact that you have to have faith in science, for you can't accurately prove its doctrines are correct either
